In the art room, the kids colored on #6 clear plastic plates and cups with permanent markers. I then warmed the plastic (out of reach of the kids) with a heat gun until it begin to melt and bend. I let the kids tell me "Stop!" when they liked the shape their piece had taken. The final product resembles the glass art of Dale Chihuly, and fit well with our "Under the Sea" theme, as many of the forms came out looking like jellyfish, coral and other things you might find living/growing in the ocean!
