The Great Ferdowsi/ حکیم ابوالقاسم فردوسی توسی (زادهٔ ۳۱۹ خورشیدی- درگذشت پیش از ۳۹۷ خورشیدی  در توس خراسان)، سخن‌سرای نامی ایران و سرایندهٔ شاهنامه حماسهٔ ملی ایران است. فردوسی را بزرگ‌ترین سرایندهٔ پارسی‌گو دانسته‌اند.

Ferdowsi was a highly revered Persian poet and the author of the epic of Shahnameh (the Persian "Book of Kings"), which is the world's longest epic poetry created by a single poet, and the national epic of Iran and the Persian-speaking world.

Islam

In the Muslim Empire there were Houses of Wisdom that scholars could go to to exchange ideas with other scholars and learn.They would translate Greek and Roman classics into Arabic, which helped to preserved these stories which could have been lost. In the House of Wisdom, there was a huge library which was open to public use. There were Islamic sacred texts along with books on law, history, and other topics. Ahmad Ibn Majid (c.1430's-c.1500) One of the greatest Arab navigators, who sailed as a ship's pilot to Calicut, India, with Vasco da Gama. He wrote more than three dozen books on seafaring, oceanography, and geography. His expertise was vital to Vasco da Gama's voyage, and he specialized in the navigation of the Arabian Sea, Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean.
