behind the scenes of penumbra
Let's start the week with something yummy (that was inspired by kinky stuff!) We made terrific vegan burgers with our vegan "sugarpeel" collar collection in mind. ❤️ Read all about it in our newest blog entry: EN: go.penumbra.at/burgerEN DE: go.penumbra.at/burgerDE
In today's #penumbracookclub entry, I talk a bit about our new vegan "gen-peel" collection in magenta, a lot about the "Butterbrettchen" from baumwollseil.de, plus there is also a recipe for vegan beetroot gnocchi 🤓 Read the whole article here: EN: go.penumbra.at/beetroot DE: go.penumbra.at/roteBeete
While answering all your Etsy messages I realised that we already have 69 5-star reviews. I thought that was a good number to share with you :D Thanks to everyone taking the time and effort to give us feedback, we're so extremely happy to see how much you appreciate our work <3 It's so good to see that even a niche business, specialising in handmade BDSM gear, can get so much positive attention
A few posts ago I showed you a teaser of new things to come - we'll be adding a new collection of collars and cuffs shortly. We'll definitely bring some to Passion BDSM and Fetish fair in Hamburg, so come and visit us to see them live - the picture doesn't do them justice :)
Buona sera Milano! Visiting new cities is always exciting, even more so when you travel there for an amazing leather fair. I'm overwhelmed by all the gorgeous materials and leathers on display, it will be soooo hard to decide what we'll use in our next few collections. I love this job
There is one problem with our pineapple based vegan collars and we can't deny it (even though we still love them a lot). Whenever we talk about them in German, there comes the point where it would be natural to use the plural of pineapple. Pineapples. I bet everyone who speaks German knows exactly what we're talking about. So yesterday I asked Doctor Google to help me fix this problem. And you know what? I've used cute fantasy-words so long that the correct versions sound very wrong to me.
Remember when I told you about our pineapple-photo shoot? Today I'll show you a behind-the-scenes picture, probably not the best quality since I took it with my mobile (and have no photo-taking skills worth mentioning... XD). You can see Kerstin and Oskar in action, wearing our vegan collars and cuffs :)
A quick preview for you to see what we've been preparing for over the last weeks - we finally had our beautiful collars and cuffs photographed with models. Here you can see our three star-models, the pineapples (as the collars and cuffs on this picture are 100% vegan and made from a pretty cool pineapple-leave-based leather substitute), with their sidekicks Mary, Oskar, and Kerstin ;) Just kidding, our human models were amazing - wait until you see the final pictures, they are soooo gorgeous!
I'm in a very firm love-hate relationship with handstitching lace to the unfinished leather pieces for one of our new collections. Sometimes, I spent several hours doing so nonetheless... On the one hand, it's quite relaxing and gives me one of the rare opportunities to binge-watch Netflix to make it less boring. On the other hand: our workspace looks like the glitter fairy came for a visit due to all the beads and sequins that needed to be taken off to make these sewable.
BoundCon Munich is approaching fast and we're in the midst of preparations. Today I'm going to show you a quick sneak-peak of our improved calligraphy series - so much to be done still... But we chose some new leather for it and it's absolutely gorgeous <3 Soon the collars and cuffs will be finished and ready for us to show you
