The designer, Samantha Elliot of Box Living, created it for her parents, and the effort she put into making something stylish that exactly suits their needs is obvious. The room makes good use of a lovely outlook and is superbly functional, but it’s the dramatic combination of soft timbers and matt black that is the true masterstroke.”
