Corinthian olpe  630-615 BC ceramic Vatican Between the end of the 8th and the 7th cent. BC, exports to the markets of the Mediterranean was dominated by Corinth. Its refined products were extremely common in Etruria. This olpe (a pitcher in the form of a pear with a high trumpet-shaped brim) is decorated with overlapping friezes of an eastern type: panthers, bulls, deer, herons, sphinxes, with rosettes made up of circles of spots on the ivory-coloured background.
