A weekender kind of weekend {take two}

This weekend we've had unseasonably warm temperatures, which gave me a chance to get outside and snap some pictures of my completed scrappy weekender! It's definitely depressing knowing that outside photo shoots will have to be reserved for weekends now, as the sun has set by the time I'm home from work. Anyways, without further ado, may I present Mr. Scrappy Weekender! No disrespect to my first weekender, but this one is my favorite. Like favorite favorite, hands down favorite bag I've ever…

Meet my Razor's Edge Quilt!! I am in love with this quilt. I designed this quilt with the hopes of breaking into my Anna Maria Horner stash that I had been saving for that "special" project. The pattern is now available on Craftsy. I had some help from my Stash Sewciety bee ladies who tested the pattern for me and they did an amazing job. This quilt measures 78" x 98" finished but the size is easily adjustable and it's the perfect scrap buster project. I am linking this quilt up with Amy's…

My Weekender!

I have been wanting to make Amy Butler's Weekender travel bag for a long time now and finally got up the courage. Everyone said how awful it was to make and what a pain it was to sew it so I was SOOO nervous. I am here to say that it was way easier then everyone made me to think. It does take a long time especially with all the cutting you have to do but it is worth it! Here are the little changes that I made to make mine an easier process: 1. I bought pre-made cording/piping. The pre-made…

The Amy Butler Weekender bag

The mother Theresa of sewing for others has to be the Amy Butler Weekender bag. There is rather a lot of sewing in it, more if you count how many times you have to unpick and resew those tricky corners. (on average, 6 attempts per corner). It's an easy bag, except the corners, so that makes it 95% easy, 5% tricky and if you get all Zen about it and accept that you have to unpick each corner at some point you could even say the whole thing is really rather manageable, albeit time consuming. I…
