Book Report Projects

"Reading is a picnic when you have a good book!" is a great idea for a title of a bulletin board display featuring sandwich book report projects. I like how this teacher has placed the sandwiches on plates, used a red and white table cloth for her backdrop, and added cute ant accent pieces.
Paper Bag Characterization
Paper bag book report projects are fun because you can have students place objects inside the bag that symbolize something important about the character. On the front of the bag, students can design a book cover. You can assign writing topics about the plot and character and these can be written on the 2 sides and back of the paper bag.

This is an example of a "Flip Book" project that a student completed about the book "Beauty Beside Me: Stories of My Grandmother's Skirts." She has written sections in her flip book about the author and illustrator, beginning, middle, end, and a story from her family. I love how the student's illustration covers the entire flip book report project.
