Check out what we can make out of clothes pins y’all!! 😍💗 | By Simply Blessed Designz | Hey y'all. Back one more time on Saturday. I think this might be the last one today. I'm not sure. This one is gonna take a bit of thinking. But I don't know. You might see this on Wednesday. You might see it Monday, Thursday. I don't know. But I hope you had a great week so far. Whatever day you do get to see this cuz it is still Saturday here. Alright so this one took a little bit of thinking. Alright so I went to the Dollar Tree of course. And I got clothes pins. You get 36 clothes pins in a pack for a dollar. So the first thing I did was I took my clothes pins apart. Very easy. You just pull them apart. And I have all the little metal pieces in here. And it is super easy. Just pull 'em apart and it takes a bit. So, I did most of it before the video 'cuz you guys don't wanna sit there and watch me pull apart close bins, right? So you have a bunch of clothes pins that look like this. So now let's make something. And I have this little I don't know I don't remember if it was Black Zone, Farmville, or South Hill but I got this little work mat from the Dollar Tree. I just stumbled upon it. I was like oh my goodness. So we're gonna use this because that way the finish that's on it. If my hot glue sticks to it it'll be easy to pop off. Cuz we're gonna be hot gluing some clothes pins together. You ready? Uh So first we're gonna start with a clothes pin that we took apart. Two pieces. And we are going to if my hot glue gun is warmed heated up enough. Yeah there it goes. So first we're going to hot glue two of them back to back. And of course my dog's gonna play a toy cuz that's what she does. So you glue two of them back to back like this. Alright, we're gonna put that down. Next, yes, I have already done my design prior to make sure I had enough and how I was gonna space it. So, like I said, this one took a little thinking. Alright, so you're gonna do that again. So now we have two clothes pins glued back to back. And we're gonna try our best to glue these together. They're not gonna stay probably but We're gonna do our best end to end. Glue them together. And we're gonna start with this. Alright, so that gives us our ground. Okay? Fall allergies y'all. Fall allergies. And my design over here is like dominoes. If you touch one they all go Alright so next we're going to take two more pieces and glue them to each side. Of this. So we're gonna hit a little hot glue and that'll this will help hold them together as well. But we're not gonna run it all the way up because it's not going to touch the whole thing. I'm trying to get them even y'all. Alright, so that's gonna help them hold them together. So this is what we have so far. That's actually upside down. This is what we have so far. I'mma try to do this quickly. Alright so next we're going to glue these right here. I think that's where they were. I think that's where they were y'all. Is that where they were? Were they here? They're right here. Alright so just a little dab of glue on these. And the more you glue together the more it'll hold it. Like I said, I did this without gluing them because I want to do it with y'all gluing it. So from y'all's point of view we look like we have a guy with his hands up in the air. And I wanna pick it up Yeah, just I'm gonna randomly pick it up the best I can to make sure it's not sticking to my board because this is not gonna live here. Alright so Next we take two. Where'd I get these from? The flat end. Nose. Right there. I should have looked at it a little bit closer y'all. Alright so we're gonna get a little flat end. Up to this one. And we're gonna do it on both sides. Alright, so this is what we have so far, okay? Stay with me. This is interesting. And I worked hard on this. Too funny. Feel like somebody just pulled up. I hope not cuz I'm glue in clothes pins. Alright so next these get glued to these. And there's like a little indention right there. That's where I'm gluing it. Just on that little spot. And it's just a dab of glue. E6000 would probably be better for this. But you have to let it sit forever. Cuz you know hot glue is a nail hold and E 6thousand is a 24 hour hold. We're just gonna go with it. And it'll it'll hold because we're gonna glue it down to a canvas. So it'll hold in the long run. Alright, let me move it. Make sure it's not sticking to my board. Trying to remember where I'm picking them up from. Alright so now these go right here up against that. So we are gonna run a bead of glue down the whole thing. Cuz this will be flush up against the one before it. And this Gorilla Glue Hot Glue is amazing. It really is. And I'm talking to you as I'm doing this. I might change it and speed it up because it it might be a little lengthy video cuz we're already like 10 minutes in and we just spotten. So I might speed it up and do a voice over for y'all. Alright, so then this one goes right here. Flush. That's too high. That's too high y'all. This needs to be a little high. Quick. Pull it off. Change your mind. I try not to put so many videos up that are long but this is a little bit of a longer process. But it's gonna look really cool. I promise. I promise. Stay with me. I'm pulling pieces y'all. Alright so this is gonna go like this. It says my phone's full. So I'm still gluing. I'm still gluing. I'll take random videos throughout my process because obviously I have to dump my phone but I'm in the middle of this. So I'll be back and forth and let you see my progress. We have the bottom half done. So, Now we're gonna start on the top. Know what it is yet? It's gonna look really cool. See you guys in a few. Alright. I am still gluing my clothes pins together but my hot glue gun died. So it's on charge. So while we're doing that we're gonna paint our canvas which our designs of our clothes pins are going on. It's 11 by 14 canvas. It's warped. Sitting like that. But I just grabbed it at the Dollar Tree. So I'm trying to decide if I wanna do a pink background or if I wanna do a bluish teal background. I think bluish teal would be really pretty. And I took some time and dumped my camera. Deleted a bunch of videos so hopefully that will help. So I have Waverly Lagoon, Waverly Peacock, and Agave. Three really pretty shades of teal that I like. So you can see the different colors. So these are the three different shades. There's a bright one, a light one, and a darker one. See? Can you see the different shades? I think that's what I'm gonna go with. Um I don't know in what order. But that's what I'm gonna go with. Y'all ever get an idea in your head and you're like how do I put that down? How do I make that happen? I might start with my bright teal at the top. No I'm gonna do my bright teal at the bottom. So I'm gonna do it Sally's actually but it's gonna end up going portrait but I'm gonna paint it landscape. Get my napkin. I always start with a wet pink brush. Alright so I'm just going to start painting with my dark peacock is actually but it's the darker of the colors. And this is the same basic principle that I used when I painted the pink canvas the other day. But I have four colors. And this one I only have three. I love the fade and how it turns out when you blend the colors together. And also by the time I finish doing this and set it aside to dry hopefully my glue gun will be charged back up. And I can finish gluing clothes bins so you guys can see what I'm working with. What I'm making. Alright. Little bit more. The canvas and the raw wood pieces really absorb the paint. I mean, really absorb the paint. I need a little water. And that's your secret to fading and blending the colors in really good. Water. Did you see how water? Can you see what I'm doing? Trying to. But if I point my camera down any further it falls. So I can't. But you can see how it's darker and then I'm gonna use the water to lighten it up as we take it across. Can you see that? Yeah You can see that. And you just go back and forth. And this is how you blend your colors together. Um Next, I wanna do this one, this color. So I'm gonna grab my next brush. Actually I usually use the same brush but I'm dipping it in. I'm not pouring. So that's why I'm using a different brush. Oh yeah. This fade is gonna be really pretty. So I have my second color and I just go back over the peacock that I use at the bottom. The wet part of it with the water. I just go back over it and that's where I start my next color. And you wanna make sure that you get the edges really really good. And the water in it is like I said is what really blends your colors really good. People make this look difficult but it's actually really really easy. You just You just watch and you look at the colors and you do whatever you think you like. And it just I don't know if you can see it. But it just kinda fades it up. From a darker color to a lighter and a lighter color. Just fades it up. It's a really cool thing to do. So I'm gonna get a tiny bit more paint and go across here. And of course you overlap. I missed that whole section right there y'all. Alright so I went way up like halfway on my dark peacock. And then I started back with my agave. Am I using agave? No I'm using lagoon. I started back and worked my way back up. Now, I've only left a little bit of space left but I'm gonna grab some water And it's gonna thin it out. In that way it helps me blend in my next color that I have coming. This slide in. I'm trying not to put the backside in paint so that I cover the back of my board in paint. But I'm also trying to hold it over here almost off the counter where you guys can see what I'm doing. So I need a tad bit more water. And it just thins it out and it lightens it up and it blends it so nice. Now, we're doing our agave and I'm I'm keeping the same brush. It'll be fine. And be fine. Alright. So, you can see when I start, you can see a big difference in the colors. This is where your water comes in. Grab a little bit of water. That's a lot of it. Knock it off on your paper towel. And then you comb and you pull it back into your previous color. And this is how you get your blended method. And you wanna go over the edge so you make sure that you're getting the edges and I go all the way across so that you don't have any short paint lines. And I just keep working back and forth. And then you have a blended canvas. That's really wet and I can't pick it up right now to show you. Alright, let me put my tops back on, my colors. And it uses very little paint y'all. Very, very little paint. I'm gonna try to pick it up and show you. But it's wet. Look at that. The light. There it goes. Look at that. That's gonna be really pretty. Now I just had to decide something on it y'all. And it's chalk paint so it'll dry really fast. But now I had to decide which one I want to be the top and which one I want to be the bottom. Or I could I could put it in the center. But I really wanted it to go like this. I think it's gonna be like this. Yeah it's on the edges. It's getting all over my fingers. See? We're gonna set it to the side. Trying not to find. I try to find a space where there's no wet paint so it doesn't get on the back of the canvas. Alright. Let me check my hot glue gun. Take a few minutes to heat up And if you're like me you'll like it to wait to dry. Just dab it with a paper towel and it dries it really bad. Especially around the edges but you have to be careful with that and don't go over a different color Hey, y'all. I like that effect. That makes it looks almost like clouds. Y'all do you see that? Makes it look almost like clouds. That's cool. We're doing this. That wasn't planned but it goes with it. How cool is that? Look at the top. Almost looks like clouds y'all. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that. So cool. Yeah I get excited over little things. I can't help it. That's really neat. I like it. I'm loving the way this turned out. Loving it. Loving it. Loving it. I know the light is messing it up. But look, it almost looks like clouds. Looks looks really awesome. Let me hot glue our clothes pin masterpiece on here. It's gonna look really good. Which we need to finish. I hope you guys have had fun with me today. I've been crafting all day and I'm not gonna lie. My feet hurt from standing on the kitchen floor for so long. Like I have these really thick mats that go in front of my stove and my sink. And I actually have both of them stacked up right now. It's one of those memory foam cushion mats. I have both of them stacked up. So yay. Alright we can move this to the side. This is this crate made this great out of popsicle sticks. Perfect to hold your paint. Telling y'all y'all can make anything and everything. And two cutting boards. It's popsicle sticks and two I don't even know if you call them cutting boards. They're like realm board things from Dollar Tree. I don't know. I'm not even sure. Alright so let's move this really quick. So Yeah. I just threw it in the floor. I probably shouldn't do that. The dog might walk over but she's over there looking out the window. She is entertained. So now we're just waiting on our hot glue guy. And our canvas to dry. I've had fun with y'all today. Got a lot of crafting done. There's a Harvest Festival coming up for the church and I'm just trying to make a couple of things to donate for that so that they can do the auction. So Cambridge Christian.com. They usually put it on book base. So This might take a few y'all. This might take a few. I'm making sure my dog doesn't step on that cardboard cuz of course she came right back over here. This might take a few. I'm gonna grab my canvas and take it up front and hit it with my heat gun. I'll be right back. Alright y'all. Hopefully it's the last time I'm gonna stop this video. It's been a long ongoing process hadn't it? Alright so my hot glue gun is heated. My canvas is dry and this is where we're at. So, Neat huh? Alright so let's finish. We only have a few more pieces to glue on. Let's do that. I'm really excited about how this is gonna turn out. It looks really good so far. And the hardest part is trying my best to keep it symmetrical. Like I try to do the same thing on both sides. And I try to pull it up when I stick it down to this mat. So that helps a lot too. Alright. Let's finish this up. Please let me know if you guys recreate anything that I make. I really want I wanna know if you recreate anything. I wanna see it. Cuz that's what I'm here for. I'm here to give you guys ideas. I think we're getting off our symmetry. That's okay. It'll be fine. We gonna go with it. We are gonna go with that. I'm debating on whether I'm gonna paint it or not. I might just leave it natural. Can't wait for y'all to see the finished product. It's gonna look so cool. I think I'm gonna make some snowflakes out of closed pins also. Since we have extra, let's go ahead and make all kinds of stuff out of clothes pins. I'm sorry I'm up so high that you guys can't really see what I'm doing. You can see what I'm doing now I think. Sure you guys can figure out what I'm making by now. Try to keep picking it up so that not sticking to my green mat. Alright, last piece. This one took a lot of hot glue. And a lot of time. But that's okay. It's worth it. Cuz it is really pretty. Look y'all. Isn't that neat? I'm debating on whether I wanna paint it or not. And of course it's gonna go on our canvas. I'm gonna do it upside down so you guys can see it. What do you think? What do you think? How neat is that? Neat. Put it down at the bottom. I think I'm gonna try to put something at the top. Like Maybe the word peace or I don't know. Or should I just put her in the middle? I kinda like it just just her. Then my question is do I paint it? Do I paint her? Do I stain her? Of course I wouldn't use a baby wipe. I would use a paint brush just to stain her. I don't know. What do you think? Should it stain her? I really like how that came out. That's really really neat. Lot of clothes pins. I think we're gonna leave her alone. I think we're just gonna put her on there. I don't think we're gonna stay in the close hands. Thanks for hanging out with me today guys. I'm gonna go sit down and watch a Hallmark movie. Have a great day.
