Paragraph of the Week! This resource gives you a step-by-step instructional plan for paragraph writing instruction. The Writing Plan includes my 5 favorite go-to writing units - informative, narrative, descriptive, opinion and summary! Students will explore topic sentences, supporting details, and concluding sentences of paragraphs. Students will have the organizational knowledge needed to write a solid paragraph that they can later expand into an essay.
If  you are teaching virtually, you will love these writing units that have  a new Google Slides addition. You can teach your students how to write a  personal narrative using graphic organizers, centers, and a mentor  text, all in Google Slides. There are other units as well, including  fictional narratives, informational writing, and opinion writing. The  digital and print versions are kid friendly to help simplify the writing  process.
What opinion do your students have about their bedtime on a school night? Do they think that they should be able to decide when to go to bed by themselves or that their parents should tell them when to go to bed? Can your kids come up with things to support their opinion? This is a fun topic for your students to think about!

This is a fun opinion assignment that students can complete when you are done studying the ocean. They must decide whether or not they would like to scuba dive to see the ocean animals they have learned about and then write their opinion.
