Textile waste is an environmental justice issue. The negative environmental + social impacts of the fashion industry disproportionately affect communities of color. We often think about this impact as being isolated to other continents in major manufacturing zones, and the situation there is very dire. But textile waste also directly affects us here in the U.S. too. Textiles end up in landfills or incinerators which are responsible for pollution that harms humans + the earth.
We work with nonprofits, communities and youth to create art projects with a voice for social and environmental justice.
