Belle Epoque Edwardian Straw Hat Vintage Gold Silk Taffeta Flowers Wide Big Brim Millinery Theater Costume Period Drama Art Deco Custom Made
Elegant, inspired by Belle Époque and Gilded Age, 19" wide brimmed hat. For my first sample, I used a vintage straw Nina Ricci hat, trimmed with false 11" wide crown, covered in Golden silk taffeta, draped over with Burned Orange and Cream tulle and adorned with silk flower garland.
Amazingly light, easy to wear.
Constructed with respect for millinery tradition and with contemporary wearer in mind.
Great for Mr. Selfridge, Downton Abbey or even Gatsby-inspired theme parties, as well as for any serious theater production. Because the first sample is SOLD, please go for the Custom Made. You custom order will be made either as a straw hat similar to the shown sample, or as a buckram wired hat structure, covered in the fabric of your choice. Any size of course. Buckram false crown is draped in silk taffeta, and trimmed with different color tulle pieces. Ostrich feathers, shown in some pictures, can be added upon request: $5-15 each, depending on the size of the feathers.
Some pictures show the Lavender version, made for a very special customer this summer.

This shop is not my first project.
IDHatShop on Etsy had made more than 400 customers happy since 2010.
Last Summer, when my designs from the 90s became a major part of Ukrainian Fashion Retrospective in Kiev, success of that exhibition inspired me to venture into this new colorful direction, quite unexpected for those who knew me for my sharp cut-and-sew headwear.

Three Women Elegant Edwardian Ladies Walking Fancy Hats Victorian Dress Paris Fashion 1900 Black and White Vintage Photography Photo Print
"Three Women Elegant Edwardian Ladies Walking Fancy Big Hats Victorian Dress Paris Fashion 1900 Black and White Vintage Photography Photo Print This was actually quite a shocking moment in the world of fashion! A turning point even! Here's the story from the intro for an exhibit on Margaine-Lacroix in 2013: \"In 1908 Jeanne Margaine-Lacroix sent three models to the Longchamp race-course clad in her form-revealing robes-tanagréennes. These corsetless dresses caused a sensation among Paris' fashionable crowd - a riot according to some newspaper reports. Worn without corsets and slit to the knee on one side over the most transparent of underskirts, their impact on the fashion world was instantaneous and resulted in major press coverage not only in Paris but around the world. In today's parlance the style immediately \"went viral\"....It was Margaine-Lacroix's daring vision that brought to an end the ideal of the rigidly corseted hour-glass figure, and ushered in the new, slim twentieth century silhouette.\" Please note: The first photo shows the cropped 8x10 size, the second shows the 5x7 size and the third photo shows the more complete 8x12 and 4x6 size photo print you will receive. Also note: This is from quite an old image that was on the cover of a magazine from 1908 so it will be a bit fuzzy and soft...but that also gives it a painterly vintage charm! This professionally printed black and white photo print is not matted and without a frame, that part is up to you. Shipped securely as soon as possible within 1-5 business days of purchase."
