Otto Carius (1922-2015) was a German tank ace of the 502nd Heavy Panzer Battalion, who was credited with destroying more than 150 tanks (ca. July 1944). He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. After the war, he studied pharmacy at Heidelberg University. In 1956, he started his own pharmacy shop in Herschweiler-Pettersheim called Tiger Apothekein, which he ran until 2011. It was named for the Tiger tank. Otto Carius, Heer, The Third Reich

Otto Günsche (September 24, 1917-October 2, 2003) was a Sturmbannführer in the Waffen-SS & a member of 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) before he became Adolf Hitler's personal adjutant. He was captured by soldiers of the Red Army on 2 May 1945. After various prisons & labour camps in the USSR, he was released from Bautzen Penitentiary on May 2, 1956. Labor Camp, Tanks

This is a photograph of Josef Willeke, his dead driver, also killed in the attack by multiple machine gun fire, along with his interpreter, Max Köster. On August 10, 1944, the People's Court under Roland Freisler sentenced him to death, and he was murdered on September 4, 1944, in Berlin-Plötzensee.
