DecoArt Blog - Crafts - Trash to Treasure | Upcycled Mixed Media Tray - Do you know situations like this too? You want to do some quick relaxed crafting and find your workdesk is way too crammed to start right away - so you need to use the dinner table in the living room? Or you want to do a little crafting in a beautiful and shady spot in your garden and use quite a variety of products and paints? In that case a little self-made tray (made from a wooden fruit crate from the supermarket) is…

Blair Witch Manor - by Claudia

Hi, servus and thanks so much for stopping by! I am back after a much needed break and would love to share my version of a haunted manor...Kerstin did one using the fabulous Haunted House Kit last year and has raised the bar for future manors considerably. I really admire how she manages to create her typical natural yet really spooky feel with her Halloween makes!!!! Check out her fabulous Haunted House by clicking HERE. With my version I went rather in the direction of dolls houses and…

Hi, servus and welcome to the kick off of our annual summer special challenge over at SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges! I hope you will join in our two months long summer challenge again this year! My project for your inspiration this time is inspired by an upcoming murder mystery dinner on a beautiful castle with our best friends, that will throw us back into Victorian times. Yay! I will be playing the murdered lady's chambermaid - so I am looking forward to having lots of fun and…

A Tribute to Bee No. 2647! - by Claudia

Hi, servus and thanks so much for stopping by! I've just read the fabulous and touching book by Maja Lunde - "The History of Bees" - and that inspired me to create a tag that shines a light on our busy bees without whom mankind could not exist. It's working bee No. 2647 and if you - like me - have read one (or all) of Professor Dave Goulson's highly entertaining and informative, loveable books about bees, bumble bees and other insects, you maybe share my (and Professor Goulson's) love for…

House Journal - a Start - by Claudia

Servus, hi and thanks so much for stopping by! Claudia here again to share some inspiration on how to use your Calico Craft Parts in your art journaling this time. I had ordered five 200 x 160 mm sized House Shapes already months ago with the idea of creating a kind of sturdy concertina fold journal by hinging the single houses together with fabric ribbon or some garden fence pieces maybe, so the journal can be put up on a shelf and all the different houses, filled with different people and…

Steampunk ATC #11 - by Claudia

Hi, everyone! I hope you're all fine! As I mentioned two weeks ago I had an idea for another cool steampunk ATC - mainly inspired by the awesome ATC frame and one of the little diver's helmets from one of the nautical themed Mini MDF Sheets. In my head there formed a story of a mad scientist doing crazy experiments in a water tank using electricity and a diver's helmet that was later meant to go onto the head of...a poor creature obviously... ...flashing light bulbs indicating electricity…

A Quick Christmas Card, Some Ornaments and Festive Home Decor - by Claudia

Hi, servus and I hope you're in the middle of enjoying the advent season (well, at least as much as possible this year)! Those who know me, know that I am not much of a Christmas crafting girl - as much as I love Christmas with decorating our tree and putting up candles and lights here and there! When it comes to creating cards or other Christmas related projects, I really start to struggle. I loved decorating presents when I was younger, but obviously habits change during a lifetime...and…
