I found out the reason for my constant shin splints was weak muscles!!! My leg muscles weren’t strong enough to handle the volume and intensity I trained at. 

With the help from my dad (the best physical therapist in the whole world), we came up with the perfect prerun routine to get those muscles firing up before training. 

Exercises:
Big toe pumps 
3 way shin pumps 
Clam shells 
Kickback leg extensions 
Alternate arm and leg raise (lying bird dog) 

Some things to note: 
You have to be consistent for these to work 
To help your shins you need to strengthen all the muscles around it too 
The stronger you get do more reps and add resistance
