Called ‘milhojas’ (1000 layers) because of the layers of pastry, this cake features layers of puff pastry filled with mascarpone cream to make this dessert a Latino favorite in many areas of the world. The cake is frosted with a rich cream cheese topping and covered with seasonal fruit, which gives it a lighter flavor. The sides are decorated in a mixture of pecans and almonds.
